A Proposal for Developing Education Planning System for the Basic Education Level in Jordan

Abstract

This study aimed at constructing a proposed project for
developing an education planning system for the basic education level
in Jordan. To achieve this target, the study identified degrees of
improvement needed in the education planning system for basic
education level in Jordan, and differences significances attributed to
sex, experience, qualification and job.Finally a project was
constructed for developing education planning. The study population
comprised all director generals, directors, and heads of planning
divisions in the Ministry of Education in Jordan, in addition to
divisions' heads in the Ministry headquarters. The study covered the
whole population which consisted of (255) individuals.The results
showed the reality of the education planning system for the basic
education level in Jordan in averages and percentages. There were no
significant differences due to sex, experience, qualification or job
position, with the exception of few interaction cases. Based on the
results, a project was constructed following the scientific methods in
setting the project targets, identifying its content, and preparing all
requirements for its success in terms of content, time and budget. The
workability of the project was verified by experts. In light of the
results, the researchers recommended adopting this project by
Ministry of Education in Jordan or any other similar authority.
