The Level of Emotional Intelligence and its Relationship with the Leader’s Effectiveness Among Jordanian Schools` Principals in Jordan

This study aims to investigate the level of emotional intelligence and its relationship with the effectiveness among the leaders of the schools` principals at Petra and Wadi Al-sair directorates in Jordan. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used two questionnaires; the first one to measure the level of emotional intelligence, the second one to measure the degree of leader’s effectiveness. The validity and reliability of the instrument were calculated. The sample of the study consisted of (102) principals. The results of the study indicated that. the level of emotional intelligence and the leader’s effectiveness for the principal of the school was moderate. The results also indicated that there is a significant statistical differences (α = 0.05) at the level of emotional intelligence referred to the interactive of demographic variables (gender, qualification, school level and an experience) in favor of males who hold a master degree at the elementary schools in the optimal effect. On the other hand, the results revealed that there is no significant statistical differences (α = 0.05). related to the qualification at the estimation of leader’s effectiveness. In addition, the results indicated that there is a significant correlation between the level of emotional intelligence and the degree of the leader’s effectiveness. Finally, one of the recommendations of the study is the necessity of offering training courses to the schools` principal especially in emotional intelligence
