Abstract

The study aimed to identify the predictability of family communication and lifestyle patterns in emotional divorce among working married women. The study sample consisted of 279 female employees at Jadara and Irbid private universities during the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021. The family communication pattern scale, the lifestyle scale and the emotional divorce scale were developed by their researcher. The semantic validity and reliability of the tools were checked. The results showed that 34.10% of the emotional divorce scale explained the overall predictive variables, 28.90% explained the social dimension, 14.80% explained the economic dimension, 14.60% explained the romantic dimension and 37.00% explained the psychological dimension. The study concluded with a set of recommendations, most important of which is examining the level of wives' possession of marital communication patterns and its relationship with other variables such as positive psychology, psychological well-being, psychological satisfaction and emotional divorce between spouses
