The Role of E-Governance in Facing the Challenges of the Corona Pandemic: An Applied Study on the Mediating Role of Academic Leadership in Jordanian Higher Education Institutions

This study aimed to reveal the role of electronic governance in facing the challenges of the Corona pandemic, the role of academic leadership in applying the dimensions of electronic governance, and the role of electronic governance in facing the challenges of the Corona pandemic, with the presence of academic leadership as a mediating variable in Jordanian higher education institutions from the point of view of faculty members. An available sample of 933 faculty members was selected, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire was a tool for data collection after verifying its validity and reliability. The results of the study showed that there is a direct role for e-governance in the challenges of the Corona pandemic, which is statistically significant, and the presence of an indirect role for the role of academic leaders as a statistically significant mediating variable, and the existence of a partial role for the role of academic leaders as a mediating variable. In the light of the results of the study, many recommendations were presented, the most prominent of which is paying attention to human resources as one of the main pillars towards the success of e-governance, and dedicating consideration to continuous training as an essential and essential matter in any university moving towards the application of e-governance, as well as seeking to increase the effectiveness of its crisis management in the university environment
