The purpose of the study was to determine the domains and items of tourism education which should be included from the expertise viewpoints in social studies and national textbooks at an intermediate level in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to find out to what extent these domains and items are included in these textbooks. The sample of the study consisted of two parts: the first part had (125) intermediate social studies and national teachers as expertise , while the second included three intermediate social studies and national textbooks. To achieve the goals of the study, a questionnaire was constructed to determin to what extent each content of intermediate social studies and national textbooks included domains and items of tourism education. In addition, a content analysis was conducted to determine to what extent contents of tourism education have these domains and the items in intermediate social studies and national textbooks. Validity and reliability of the two instruments were ensured. Findings of the study revealed four domains; each has a list of items representing tourism education which were identified and assured by teachers of social studies and national textbooks. Most of these items were classified as very important by teachers. Moreover, findings of content analysis revealed that items and domains of tourism education were not deeply and sufficiently included in the intermediate social studies and national textbooks. Also, several recommendations were suggested.
