Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effect of a teaching strategy based on problem solving on developind the mathematical creative thinking skills for the class teacher students, the sample of the study consisted of (98) students, distributed randomly into two  groups, the control group consisted of (50) students taught by the traditional strategy, and the experimental group consisted of (48) students taught by a strategy based on problem solving. A mathematical creative thinking test was constructed by the researcher, and used as a pre post –test. Results showed a development of the creative thinking skills of the experimental group, the results also showed that there is a significant difference between the means of the experimental and control group, in favor of the experimental group. Results also showed a development of the levels of creative thinking of the experimental group, and distributed into 1, 2, and 3 levels. The study recommended further studies about models and strategies on the creative thinking in various class stages
