The study aimed at examining the effectiveness of the creative counseling methods in modifying control beliefs and improving psychological empowerment among a sample of adolescents enrolled in the public schools for boys in the Directorate of Education in Irbid, Jordan. The study sample consisted of 30 tenth and eleventh-grade male students. They were randomly assigned to two equal groups: An experimental group (n=15), who participated in the group counseling program, and a control group (n=15) that did not participate in any intervention program. To achieve the aims of the study, measures of the Control Beliefs (CB), and Psychological Empowerment (PE) were used to gather the data from the two study groups in the pre-post tests, and from the experimental group, only for the follow-up test. In addition to a creative arts based- group counseling program. ANCOVA results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and the control groups in the mean scores of Control Beliefs (CB), and Psychological Empowerment (PE) scales in the post-test, in favor of the experimental group, indicating the effectiveness of the counseling program. Furthermore, results of the post-follow-up tests comparisons for each of the dependent variables for experimental group, showed that differences were not significant on the two scales of Control Beliefs (CB), and Psychological Empowerment (PE), which reflects the stability of the program effect.
