Causes for the Disinclination of Public School Students in Irbid Governorate Towards Drama Activities as Perceived by Art Teachers

This study aimed at investigating the reasons of the
disinclination of public school students in Irbid Governorate towards
practicing drama activities in addition to showing if there are any
statistically significant differences between the teacher views of such
disinclination of public school students to practice drama activities
due to gender, academic qualification, education directorate and
experience variables. The study sample consisted of (100) male and
female teachers of art education selected randomly. The study used a
questionnaire of (23) items distributed among three domains: the
personal, scholastic, and abilities. The study results showed that
abilities domain came highly in the causes leading to the student's
disinclination or aversion to practicing drama activities, followed by
the personal domain then the scholastic domain. The study also
showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the
teacher's views of the student's disinclination of practicing any
dramatic activities attributed to any of gender, qualification, the
directorate and experience variables.
