Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Self-Compassion, Palestinian Adolescent Girls, Without Parental Careالملخص
The current study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a counseling program based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in improving self-compassion among Palestinian female adolescents without parental care. The study sample consisted of 18 adolescent girls aged 13-14, who obtained the lowest scores on the self-compassion scale. They were divided randomly into two groups, an experimental and a control group, each of which included 9 adolescent girls. The experimental group was exposed to acceptance and commitment therapy, while the control group did not undergo any program. To achieve the objectives of the study, a self-compassion scale (Neff et al., 2021) was used. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the self-compassion scale in favor of the experimental group, while there were no statistical differences between the post and follow-up measurements
