This study aimed at identifying the efficiency of a training
program for creative imagination in developing the creative abilities
of (7-8) years old children. The study sample consists of (100) gradetwo
students, selected randomly and divided into two experimental
groups and two control groups. A Creativity Assessment Packet (CAP)
was used as pre- and post- tests. The results of (ANCOVA) showed
statistical differences at the level of(0.05=α) on the Packet between
the performance of experimental and control groups in favor of the
experimental groups at the overall dimensions and its sub-dimensions
excluding the Fluent thinking; Flexible thinking; and Complexity
dimensions according to parents' point of view. Furthermore, there
are no significant differences at (0.05=α) according to gender at the
overall dimensions and its sub-dimensions excluding the Fluent and
Flexible thinking dimensions in favor of females, and on the original
thinking dimension in favor of males on the divergent thinking scale.
In addition, results revealed differences on the interaction between the
group and gender in the case of the Fluent, Flexible and Elaborative
thinking dimensions on the divergent thinking scale; while differences
appeared in the complexity dimension and the open question
dimension on the Williams scale. Based on the findings, the
researcher suggested several recommendations.
