The Effect of Temperament and Attachment Styles on the Theory of Mind

This study aimed to reveal the effect of temperament and attachment styles on the theory of mind and whether there are significant differences in the theory of mind attributed to gender and grade. The sample consisted of (391) male and female students, from the elementary classes, who were selected by the convenient method from the schools of Ministry of Education In Irbid governorate for the year 2020-2021. To achieve the objectives of the study, the scales of theory of mind, temperament for early adolescence and attachment styles for adolescents were administered. The results of the study showed that the arithmetic mean of theory of mind for females was higher than that for boys, but no significant differences were found due to the grade variable. Also, the results showed a statistically significant contribution for the anxious style of attachment, affiliation and frustration in the prediction of the theory of mind, wher the anxious style explained (6.40 %) of theory of mind, affiliation explained (3.10%) and frustration explained (1.10%) of the variance
