The objective of this study is to examine the use of
Internet-based electronic resources by postgraduate students.
Citations in 277 approved educational theses and
dissertations at the Faculty of Education, Yarmouk University
between 2005 and 2007 were analyzed in terms of intensity of
citing electronic resources in addition to subject, form, and
linguistic distribution of citations. The findings show that
74% of the approved theses have used electronic resources.
Nevertheless, the proportion of the electronic resources used
was 6%. The year 2007 has the highest record in terms of the
number of electronic resources cited. Most of the cited
electronic resources are in English and belong mainly to two
categories: "a paper or an electronic article" and "a research
paper published in a journal".
