Abstract

The study aimed at investigating the relationship between the dimensions of scientific research crisis and its production challenges at Yemeni universities, through identifying the degrees of the availability of the dimensions of crisis and challenges and finding out any significant differences among the average responses due to the study variables. The study sample involved 156 faculty members from Aden and Hadhramout Universities. Two instruments were developed, the first for the dimensions of the crisis and the second for the challenges of research production. The results showed high degrees of availability. Concerning the university variable, there were differences in all the subscales and the whole scale in favor of Aden University in the two instruments. Regarding the college variable, there were differences in the economic and cultural subscales and the whole scale in the first instrument, as well as and in the resources and research performance subscales of the second instrument in favor of practical colleges in the two instruments. Regarding the title variable, there were differences in the economic subscale in favor of the associate professor title and in the social subscale in favor of the associate professor and assistant professors titles in the first instrument, as well as in the resources and research performance subscales and the whole scale in the second instrument. The results showed correlation between the dimensions of the crisis and the challenges.
