Values of Bureaucracy to the Administrative Staff Working at the University of Mu'tah, and their Relationship to Job Performance from the Viewpoint of the Administrative Leadership

This study aimed at identifying the effect of bureaucratic
values on the job performance of the Mu'tah University administrative
staff from the viewpoint of administrative leadership. The sample of
the study consisted of 125 administrative leaders in the academic year
2007-2008. The instrument of the study consisted of two measures:
one for bureaucratic values distributed over 12 fields; the other
consisted of 24 items distributed over 6 fields.
The study revealed that the subjects` evaluation for bureaucratic
values and job performance came high. The study also revealed that
the differences in evaluation of the bureaucratic values were
statistically significant in favor of assistant managers and the
duration of service (above 16 years). As for job performance, the
differences in evaluation were in favor of managers and duration of
service (below 10 years).
Furthermore, the study revealed that the relation between
bureaucratic values on the one hand, and job performance, on the
other, is statistically significant (0.75).
