Abstract

This Study aimed at investigating the effect of studying the
course “ Teaching Those of Special Needs “on developing the
attitudes toward the handicapped among a sample of students in Al-
Hussein Bin Talal University. The sample of the study included (123)
students from the College of Educational Sciences who were enrolled
in teaching those of special needs course during the year 2005/2006.
To achieve this purpose, Al – Quraiti (1992) Scale for Measuring
Attitudes Toward The Handicapped was administrated as pre and post
– test procedure. The results of the study revealed that there were
statistically significant differences between students’ attitudes toward
the handicapped that is a positive improvement in students attitudes
related to studying the course. The results also revealed that there
were no a significant differences between attitudes due to student
gender or academic specialization.The results of this study were
discussed in light of previous and theoretical literature
