Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine how smart accountability was being implemented in private schools in the Southern Governorates of Palestine from the perspective of the teachers, with the goal of outlining a suggested plan of action to implement smart accountability in those institutions. The study used a descriptive survey and a developmental approach. The sample consisted of 43 teachers, who were asked to fill out a questionnaire and an environmental analysis form. The study found that private schools were implementing intelligent accountability to an intermediate degree.The study presented a proposed strategy to activate intelligent accountability in those schools, which included a philosophy, premises, objectives, components and implementation mechanisms.. A sample of experts in various fields of education from faculty members at Palestinian universities participated in a focus group using the method to implement the strategy. The study recommended that the Ministry of Education adopt the proposed strategy and integrate smart accountability into the professional development programs for principals.
