Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of assessment of basic language and learning skills (The ABLLS-R) program in improving basic skills among a Jordanian sample of Autism Spectrum Disorder children. The sample of the study consisted of (10) Autism children aged (3-6) years. The researchers administrated the basic skills scale derived from (The ABLLS- R) program as a pre/post test after verifying content validity and discriminative validity as well as raters' reliability, test-retest reliabilityand internal constancy. The findings of the study showed that there are differences in participants' performance in both pre and post measurements with a difference of (64.9) in favor of the post- performance in the skills as a whole. Further, the follow- up measurement to explore the effect of the program after (3) weeks of training showed no decline in the participants' performance between the post- measurement and the follow- up measurement
