Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of roundhouse strategy in the instruction of the Eco-system unit to eighth grade male students on immediate and delayed achievement and improving their attitudes towards science. The study sample consisted of (63) male students in Al-Russaifa city in Jordan. The sample was randomly divided into two groups; the experimental group (n=34) taught using the roundhouse strategy and the control group (n=29) taught using the traditional method. In order to achieve the study’s aims, teaching material was developed based on the roundhouse strategy. An achievement test in science was also performed, as well as a measurement regarding attitudes toward science. The results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) attributed to instruction strategy in immediate and delayed achievement and attitudes toward science in favor of the experimental group. The researchers recommended using the roundhouse strategy for instruction science and materials containing difficult and complex concepts
