False Memory and its Relationship to Psychological Well-Being Among Yarmouk University Students

Objectives: The current study aims to reveal the differences in false memory and psychological well-being according to the variable of specialization (Class Teacher, Childhood Education, and psychological counselling), and to reveal the correlation between false memory and psychological well-being.
Methodology: A correlational approach was used, and a convenience sample of (270) male and female students from the Faculty of Education at Yarmouk University was selected. To achieve the study's objectives, two scales were used: the false memory scale and the psychological well-being scale, after ensuring their validity and reliability.
Results: The results show that there are no differences in false memory due to the specialization variable, while the results indicate that there are differences in psychological well-being due to the specialization variable. Finally, the results show that there is a negative relationship between the false memory and psychological well-being.
Conclusion: The study recommended the need to design training programs aimed at enhancing students' effectiveness in using cognitive processes, which would contribute to reducing their levels of false memory. (169)
