Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive research was to identify the obstacles of educational supervision in the resource room program (RRP) as perceived by supervisors of special education in the Sultanate of Oman. A total of 52 female supervisors responded to a questionnaire consisting of 51 items. These items were distributed into four domains related to administrative, technical, personal and financial obstacles. The results indicated that there was a high level of obstacles in financial and administrative domains; there were statistical differences in personal and financial domains due to the qualification in favor of bachelor’s degree holders and no statistically significant differences due to the governorate variable were found. Accordingly, the research recommended providing a budget for special education departments in the education directorates, as well as organizing training courses for special education supervisors
