This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using spider web discussion in the acquisition of scientific concepts and motivation toward learning science among grade nine female students. The study utilized the quasi-experimental approach and the sample consisted of (72) grade 9 female students in Muscat Governorate/ Sultanate of Oman. The sample was divided into two groups: Experimental group (36 students) and control group (36 students). To achieve the aims of this study, the researchers prepared a teacher guide based on using Spider Web Discussion strategy and used two tools: Scientific concepts test and motivation scale towards learning science. The validity and reliability of tools were verified. The results of the study showed statistically significant differences in scientific concepts test as well as in the motivation scale, in favor of the experimental group. In light of these results, the study proposed several recommendations to improve science teaching, such as: conducting training, workshops for teachers on how to plan teaching using spider web discussion and to use it in teaching to prompt students’ motivation toward science learning
