The purpose of the current study was to design an online translation model and test its effectiveness in remedying translation problems and developing translation skills of Saudi-university students. The sample of the study consisted of 120 students (males and females) distributed randomly between the experimental and control groups. The researcher administered the proposed online model as well as a translation test. Statistical analyses of the data indicated that there were significant differences between the mean scores of the two groups on the post-test in favour of those of the experimental group. No significant differences were found between the mean scores of males and females in the experimental group on the post-test. The suggested model proved to be effective in developing translation skills with a gain ratio of 1.24
